Weekly Tip #6
Call Ahead
Sometimes the best advice is the simplest. Before visiting your next campground or resort destination, call ahead to inquire about the lot size and space limitations. Be sure to ask if there are pull-through spots, low hanging branches, or ample room for your slide-outs. One phone call may prevent a great deal of stress and difficulty.

Also when choosing that perfect site, consider afternoon sun for best a/c performance. Will my awning be the most effective in the afternoon? Will my windshield catch the hot sun? Will my refrigerator be facing the hot afternoon sun? We do not always have choices but these are a few things to consider if we can choose our site.

This sounds like common sense, but most of the parks I use do not assign a space until you arrive. When you arrive you get pot luck, especially if you deal with the infamous Park Host who generaly is not to clear on anything Go look and if it isn t to your needs come back and stand in line again . I have run into very few that will preassign a space and hold it.
