You can prevent uninvited guests like ants, spiders and mice from entering your RV by using a few simple household items you may already carry. Scatter mothballs around your propane lines, water heater, refrigerator compartments and outside furnace access to keep spiders away. Spread petroleum jelly around outside-to-inside openings to keep even the most determined ants out, and stuff steel wool into gaps where critters could enter to discourage mice and other pests from joining you inside. You can also sprinkle a chlorine-based cleanser, like Comet®, around your wheels to keep ants and mice from climbing up the tires and entering — but use sparingly, since chlorine is toxic to small animals.
