Few RVers enjoy maintenance tasks, but annually inspecting and resealing all the openings in your roof is not a chore to be ignored. The caulking around your roof vents, ladder mounts and antenna has a tendency to dry out and crack. Even a little water seeping in between your roof and ceiling liner — where the source may be hard to find — can cause rotting and produce leaks inside your rig. Use a solvent to clean around the cracked areas, and then thoroughly coat with caulk. Your RV parts supplier can recommend the right caulk for your type of roof.
