Upgrade Your RV's
Renew Your Family's Passion for the Road
Chances are, when you flip through this magazine you will find a multitude of reasons to trade in your RV. However, below are seven of the most popular reasons RVers are motivated to upgrade their homes-on-wheels.
1) Curb Appeal
Maybe we should call it ‘road appeal,’ because nothing catches the eye of a fellow motorist quite like the full body paint job of a brand new RV. With the sun’s rays glistening off the polished chrome and ultra-sleek exterior, a new RV owner just can’t help but burst with pride. Add a vinyl graphics package, which comes standard on many manufacturers’ 2008 models, and heads will turn wherever your travels take you.
2) New Floor Plans
Options, options, options…there is a love that stems from the freedom of choice. When it comes to choosing a floor plan for your new RV, you have more choices now than ever before. Are you a ‘TV in the overhead dash’ type, or do you prefer a hutch with a fireplace? Maybe it is having two sleeper sofas that turns your frown upside down. One bathroom? Two bathrooms? How about one-and-a-half bathrooms? Does your current fifth wheel or travel trailer have a side aisle? Trade up to a floor plan with a side aisle and experience bedroom and bathroom privacy you have only previously read about.
3) Better Technology
Ok, so back then your RV came pre-wired for satellite radio and TV. Well, today, one of the latest technological innovations is the flat screen high-definition television with liquid crystal display, LCD HD TV for short. Many of today’s RVs come equipped with a LCD HD TV in the living room as well as in the bedroom. “The Godfather” will never look or sound the same, especially with the complimentary effects of a Dolby 5.1 surround sound home theater system. For those who want more technology, there are state-of-the-art GPS navigation systems with touch screen monitors. If that doesn’t dwindle the number of arguments you have with your co-pilot, a queen-size bed with Sleep Number technology surely will.
4) Bigger Engines (with Better Efficiency)
With the incredible number of front-end diesel coaches that are now available, the reality of owning a reliable and efficient diesel coach is attainable at a reasonable price. Additionally, manufacturers are packing more horsepower into today’s RVs than ever before.
5) Improved Drivability
Have you ever experienced the plush comfort of a Flexsteel, ultra-leather, six-way power pilot seat? If you have ever longed for a back massage while driving cross-country, then you must check out this marvel of modern technology. Increased comfort is not the only way new RVs allow for an improved driving experience. Side cameras and rear vision systems add to your traveling safety and comfort by offering instant knowledge as to what’s around you at a glance. In addition, Trip Tech monitoring systems allow you to effectively gauge your engine’s performance while en route.
6) More Livability
Some of the latest RV floor plans provide more living area than a New York City apartment. Toy haulers sport built-in bedroom lofts over a climate-controlled garage area in the rear of the trailer. RVers who work out of their RVs, attend numerous trade shows, or operate small businesses on the road prefer this type of RV as it allows for maximum garage and living area.
7) Increased Storage Capacity
When it comes to storage capacity, an avid RVer knows that less is more. The less you have the more you want and need. That is why many new models offer storage solutions like Rotocast over-the-rail, pass-through storage compartments with side-hinged doors. Easy to clean and maintain, these durable compartments are secured by lock and key and greatly increase your RV’s overall storage capacity. Many models feature manual or automatic slide-out trays for easy, back-friendly access. Increased storage is not limited to the exterior though; many new RV models offer a stunning amount of elegant yet functional cabinet and overhead storage in the living area.
