The show floor at the industry’s annual trade show recently held in Louisville, KY was all abuzz with the newest generator soon to be available from Cummins Onan, the industry leader in RV power generation products and services.

The new Quiet Diesel 3200 was designed to meet the needs of active RVers in the popular class B and class C motorhomes built on the Dodge/Freightliner Sprinter body. This powerful little package will also be a fan favorite for people who have opted for the beefier class C units being built on the Ford    Duramax and Chevrolet Kodiak platforms. The 3200 will be the smallest model in the Quiet Diesel lineup of generators from Cummins Onan.

The engineers went back to the drawing board for this one and the end result is going to bring smiles to the faces of the many RV enthusiasts who want a generator that operates on the same fuel as the engine that powers the rig. Speaking of efficiency, the 3200 offers an average fuel consumption of about a half-gallon per hour and that means piece of mind to RVers because it will run four to five times longer than a comparable LP generator before requiring refueling.

Amazingly, this new generator is only twenty-five pounds heavier than the Cummins Onan LP generator now found on many class C motorhomes. More important to the RV manufacturers that will soon be providing this generator as standard or optional equipment is the total overall weight – only 209 lbs. The Quiet Diesel 3200 hits the scales at half the weight of the previous Cummins Onan diesel offering for this market.

Don’t let the diminutive size and weight fool you though, this is a powerful source of energy when landlines are unavailable. The 3200 is powerful enough to run a roof air conditioner with power to spare. Also, when considering the RVs that this unit would be installed in, the engineers realized that the active class C RVer could be spending many a night in one of our national parks or in campgrounds that might have more tents, pop-up campers and small motorhomes than class A units or luxury busses. So in additional to its small size, they built in technology that provides a quiet operating environment that is below the acceptable levels for generators that are used in our national park system.

Similar to other Quiet Diesel models, the 3200 is an inverter-based generator that helps lower noise and vibration while delivering the power that today’s RV enthusiast demands for all the extra toys they bring along on the journey, or for that quiet night under the stars watching their outside flat screen television, or when listening to the stereo with a fine glass of wine. And too, they might really appreciate it when they brew that first cup of Starbuck’s® coffee before heading out for   another great day outdoors.
Watch for this exciting new diesel generator in the spring when many manufacturers will start delivering new class C motorhomes to the Lazydays lot. Be one of the first in the campground or national park to enjoy the quiet comfort of the Quiet Diesel 3200.
