Did a lot of research before buying my 102 (8.5 ) Motorhome. The law in Viginia is 102 . See http://www.dmv.state.va.us/webdoc/pdf/dmv109.pdf

I understand there are reciprocity agreements between the states with the exception of DE. Does that pertain to towing also or just auxiliary brakes? If not does it include the length of towbar of towing equipment?

How often are these laws really enforced. I have been through MD a state that has some what I consider ridiculous laws and been past many a trooper and never been stopped. Knock on wood.

That may be a misprint, If that were the case, I don't think RV dealers could sell 8'6" RV's in the state, and we all know that is not true. However, having driven an RV through VA, (eastern VA), i do my bet to avoid it. Bridges, tunnels, traffic etc, horrendous.

So... that that mean most of the RV sold cannot drive through VA since they are over 8-ft wide??
