Tucson, AZ
The new Tucson Lazydays location hosted its much-anticipated Wild West RV Super Show December 10-11, 2011, under a flawlessly blue desert sky. Representatives from nine major RV manufacturers offered a preview of their 2012 models – presenting details on floor plans, technologies, chassis, engines and decor – during seminars in Lazydays’ brand new meeting rooms. In addition to food, fun games and entertainment, the Wild-West-themed weekend also featured stagecoach rides, cowboys, calf roping and a poker walk.
Among the attendees were Matt and Wendy Taylor, who were there with their three children: Ethan, Noah and Kirsten. The Taylors are full-time RVers who travel the nation year-round in a leased Class A motorhome. They were visiting Tucson when they learned about the Wild West RV Super Show and decided to stop in.
Matt and Wendy were grateful for the opportunity to gather details directly from the RV representatives, as they’re planning to buy a new RV soon and had specific questions related to their needs. They had narrowed their options down to two possible models and wanted to learn more about each one. The Taylors were most concerned about toy hauler space and sleeping accommodations for three growing children, and the information and answers they received helped bring them one step closer to a decision.
When asked about their RV lifestyle, Wendy encouraged other families to embrace it as they have. “Do it now! Don’t be afraid, just go for it,” she advised, adding, “It’s more fun and less expensive than you think.”
Vince Ermovick, a local in the Tucson area, was also there to enjoy the weekend’s events. He and his wife were staying at the Lazydays Tucson RV Campground for a few nights “just to get out of the house for a while.” The couple has owned their Class C RV for a few years now, and Vince was looking forward to speaking with a rep about their particular model.
The Ermovicks had the Wild West RV Super Show scheduled on their calendar for some time, and were looking forward to attending. They enjoy coming to the campground regularly, sometimes just to eat in the restaurant and visit with other RVers. “We often drive across town for the breakfast. They have a great breakfast buffet. We have friends here, and we’re treated really well,” said Vince.
The Taylors, Ermovicks and their fellow RVers weren’t the only ones doing information-gathering at the event; the RV manufacturer representatives also came away with valuable consumer feedback. Attendees eagerly talked about their RVing experiences with reps throughout the weekend, while enjoying the festivities and a special kind of RV camaraderie that can be found nowhere but Lazydays.
