Keystone RV has introduced a number of new models and upgrades for 2012, including the Vantage and Raptor. Here is what’s new from Keystone for 2012:

Vantage

Keystone Vantage: Back to Front
Keystone Vantage: dinette

Keystone’s new Vantage product line offers a unique concept in travel trailer styling and cutting-edge construction technology. High-gloss fiberglass covers the cool grey exterior, which is accented by a black bumper, wheel wells and windows. The Vantage features vacuum-bonded radius walls both inside and outside, front and back molded fiberglass caps, and LED lighting throughout. Considering its size, it is surprisingly lightweight.

“It’s not intentionally an ultra-lightweight,” said Keystone RV President Bob Martin. “But due to some of our construction techniques – vacuum-bonded sidewalls, laminated construction – it comes in fairly light. Ultimately, we will offer it in an entire range of sizes, down into the smaller 20-foot lengths.”

Currently the Vantage is offered in three floor plans, with one additional floor plan coming in the near future. All floor plans feature one slide room. The 32FLS and the 32QBS include a number of upgraded features, such as stainless steel appliances and 7-foot vaulted ceilings.

As Bob explained, “The Vantage was the brainchild of our senior operations group. They wanted to do something that looks different, that uses a different construction process, and that was unlike anything on the market today.”

Raptor

Keystone Raptor: side porch
Keystone Raptor: garage

The Keystone Raptor recently debuted its 384PK patio-kitchen floor plan, which features an industry-first elevated side patio complete with pull down kitchen, refrigerator access, LCD TV, deck railings and optional electric awning. Like all Raptor models, it also has a rear cargo ramp for loading quads, motorcycles or other toys. The side patio has access through its own sliding-glass door.

Raptor Product Manager Jim Rzepka noted that sales of this floor plan far exceeded expectations. “Our dealers loved the kitchen patio/outdoor living zone, and stepped up big time by placing a record-setting number of orders.”

Another unique feature of this floor plan is the angled queen bed in the front bedroom. According to Jim, by angling the front queen bed, the Raptor was able to utilize otherwise wasted space in the front cap; creating an additional 12 inches of extra room at the foot of the bed. “This opened up the bedroom, and allows us to better create a feeling of spaciousness,” he added.
