The Full-Wall Slide
Open Wide and Say Ahhh!
That’s not your doctor speaking to you; it is your professional RV sales representative showing you one of the many motorhomes that are now available with full-wall slides. Instead of ahhh, it might actually be a WOW!
One of the most talked about features on new motorhomes is the full-wall slide, which opens the interior of the coach to home-like dimensions. Fleetwood RV was not the first manufacturer to introduce a full-wall slide, but they certainly perfected their own system and now offer this feature on several coaches in their 2007 product lineup. Pictured on the cover is the elegant Crème Brulee interior of their American Coach Eagle luxury motor coach. As you can see, a full-wall slide really opens the interior to some unique design options that provide livability enhancements unmatched by prior years’ floor plans.
One of the most exciting floor plans that we have seen with the full-wall slide feature is Fleetwood’s 42F layout that is available on the luxury American Coach Eagle and Tradition models. This unique floor plan offers two separate baths that make the coach extremely convenient when socializing with friends or when it is just the two of you. There is a half bath with a sink and commode just outside the master bedroom suite located “mid-ship” and you will find a full bathroom with sink, commode, large shower, washer/dryer and expansive wardrobe at the very rear of the motor coach. In the bedroom you will find a queen size bed that also has an optional air mattress, along with a desk, 26” flat screen television and overhead cabinets.
With all of these amenities you may never want to leave the comfort of your suite! Not quite what you want? Well you can select the optional king size bed, also available with an air mattress, for the ultimate in sleeping accommodations on the road. You can then select the optional 32” flat screen television. Sure beats those hotel rooms any day of the week!
The full-wall slide is roadside and includes the living room sleeper sofa, dining table and chairs, four-door refrigerator/freezer with ice maker and water dispenser, linen cabinet and the aforementioned bedroom cabinetry. Many RVers are opting for the dinette booth ensemble with a power table and a luxurious Villa furniture package to replace the standard sleeper sofa and dinette booth.
The coach also includes two smaller slideouts, one in the bedroom and the other in the kitchen/living room area. When both slideouts are open you are rivaling a home environment fit for entertaining friends; whether to watch the ball game together on the incredible 40” flat screen television that let’s you count the stripes on the player’s uniforms, or to enjoy a wonderful dinner for four without ever having to say “excuse me” for bumping into someone while trying to maneuver inside the coach.
American Coach’s top-of-the-line motor coaches allow you to invest in the luxury you have worked so hard to achieve at this point in your life.
If you are not ready for the ultimate product offered by Fleetwood, you can enjoy similar conveniences and full-wall slideouts in their diesel pusher lineup with offerings in the Bounder Diesel (38V), Expedition (38V), Excursion (39V), Discovery (39V) and the Revolution LE (40) models. Available in lengths from 38’ to 40’ you can find a 40V full-wall floor plan that offers a private shower/commode area with a sink on the opposite just outside the bathroom. This layout allows you to enclose the bedroom and bathroom in one complete suite that can be closed off from the kitchen and living room areas.
If you prefer gas over diesel in the engine selection you can also enjoy this feature on the Pace Arrow 36D floor plan. This configuration has two slides; the full-wall slide roadside and a smaller slide at the head of the queen size bed in the rear. Amazingly, this layout also offers the two bathrooms that the 42F American Coach Eagle and Tradition layout offers. From front to rear the full-wall slide includes a sleeper sofa, free standing dinette with four chairs, refrigerator and pantry; all forward of the master bedroom suite. Continuing on the same slide in the master bedroom suite you will find a dresser cabinet with a television above and a large wardrobe.
One of the reasons that full-wall slides have become a favorite with RVers is that they allow for unique floorplans with layouts that are not chopped up by multiple slides that one must walk around. Full timers can’t say enough good things about the openness they enjoy when their full-wall slide and opposite wall slides are fully extended once they get to the campground or RV resort.
In addition to the Fleetwood product offerings you will also find even more full-wall slide floor plans from the following Monaco Coach product lineups at Lazydays; Monaco: Signature, Executive, Dynasty, Camelot, Diplomat, Monarch and Monarch SVE Holiday Rambler: Navigator, Imperial, Scepter, Endeavor, Admiral and Admiral SVE Beaver: Marquis and Patriot Thunder.
The top-of-the-line Signature is an incredible 45’ motor coach with a creative floor plan that offers a rear bathroom and includes two doors on the mid-ship half bath that allows entrance from the forward area and directly from the master bedroom suite.
